YEJ series DC brake motors is a kind of totally enclosed fan-cooled squirrel-cage 3 phase asynchronous motors, it was designed according to IC standard and has a lot of advantages including prompt braking, compact structure, high reliability, high efficiency, energy saving, large starting torque, easy operation & servicing etc. Besides, the brake has a manual release device, which allows the brake a junction of both manual release and electric release and is convenient for operation.

YEJ series DC brake motors are suitable for mechanism that requires prompt braking, accurate positioning, repeat running, frequent starting and avoid slipping. Principle and structure of the brake motors, the DC brake disc is assembled on the non-drive end shaft of the motor, when supplied with power, the brake works simultaneously, the electromagnetic force attracts the armature and presses the spring, thus the brake disc is released from armature and endshield, then the motor begins to run; When the power supply is cut off, electromagnetic force lost, the spring pushes the armature to the brake disc, the motor stops immediately, a braking action finished. The power of the brakt is supplied by rectifier fixed in the terminal box, DC 99V for motors up to 3KW and DC 170V for motors 4KW and up.

Y2EJ series DC brake motors (DC brake assembled on Y2 series motors) and YDEJ series DC brake motors (DC brake assembled on
YD series multi-speed motors) are also available.
